Google: the whole Internet is harmful
Jan 31st, 2009 by Bob King
Like every other day, I type a keyword into the Google search box on my Firefox and expect the usual helpful results to start my day. However, something unusual had happened. This time Google returns a list of results with “This site may harm your computer” underneath every title. See screen shot below.
Clicking on any search result takes you to a severe warning page.
Wow! What’s going on? Was my computer hit by a virus or worm. I’d better read Google’s Safe Browsing advisory. And guess what, Google, in such a rare occasion, gives an error page.
OK, maybe this StopBadware.org could help. Surprise, surprise, I’m not the only one trying to get help. This server is so badly harmmered, it doesn’t even response.
So I’m basically confined to my computer with Internet so close but unreachable! Just because Google in its almighty wisdom considers every page on the Internet “Harmful”.
How did this happen? Are we so overly relying on one service provider on the the Internet? Is Google trying too hard to policing the Internet?
