EzineArticles Autoposter: a free WP plugin: ver. 1.2.2 released
Aug 15th, 2009 by Bob King
Since EzineArticles Autoposter was release about 2 weeks ago, there have been many users and quite a few bug reports. Many of the bugs are not something I had expected. Well, otherwise, there wouldn’t be any bugs. It’s a living proof that open source works. To quote Eric S. Raymond states that “given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow”.
The primary bug is about empty articles generated by EzineArticles Autoposter plugin. These have many causes, not all of them are problems of the plug in. For example, network connection problems and EzineArticles.com blocking your IP for too frequent requests are two. Well, now these problems are detected in the plugin so that no empty article will be posted.
Interesting enough, I also found a bug in PHP function preg_match(), which fails to match a pattern as intended. It’s a part of PHP which is probably rarely exercised.
Anyhow, all the reported bugs are fixed. Hopefully, no more empty articles. But if you see any issue, let me know.
I’m having trouble getting this plugin listed at Wordpress.org. You cannot be notified within Wordpress admin pannel for updates. You’ll have to download it and overwrite the previous version. Your existing posting tasks will still function as before. No other changes required.
Version 1.2.2 can be downloaded from the plugin home page.
